Sydney’s Child Magazine
Here’s another illustration i did recently for Sydney’s Child magazine (published nationally as Melbourne’s Child, Adelaide’s Child, Brisbane’s Child etc).
The article was about a mother who found her young girl had done a bit hairdressing on herself one day. After initially being very upset, the mother starts to think about her own ideas about what it means to be a girl, having long hair et cetera.

New studio space
Ahhh It’s been a while.
Well quite a few things have happened since my last post. I’ve moved into a new shared studio space. The space is on King St, in Newtown, Sydney and it’s great. It’s run by my friend from school Hugo who is planning on turning it into a rooftop cinema in the future, but until then…
Sadly I don’t have any photos of the space as I haven’t been there as much as I would have liked in the past few weeks, other things have needed attending to.
Vorsicht
I did this piece the other day for a great magazine called Sydney’s Child. It’s a national magazine (Also published as Melbourne’s Child, Adelaide’s Child etc).
The story is about the difference between the author’s expectation of life with a newborn baby and all the plans she was making, compared to her experience once the baby was born. Now she listens to her pregnant friend talking about all these things she plans to do………
Here are some of the roughs I submitted:
Pretty straight forward process:
Luckily I had some first hand baby care experience whilst working on this brief, looking after my niece Nina who was out from Germany.
Thanks to Sean Mooney who directed this Illustration.
